The one listed above is the one we use in our dedicated builds. After we did all the R&D needed to make sure our combo would work other companies started coping it. That would be my first choice in most applications..
Since you are trying to build a budget system using a hooley fuel pump I can make a couple of suggestions for you.
If you were to use the holley blue regulater in conjuction with the fuel pump you have it would be a dead head style system. That is fine but you would need to activate the system and bleed off the air out of the hose before running.
You can turn that regulater into a return style regulater very cheaply. You would need to drill and tap the front of the regulater on the bottom port face. Then screw in a plate fitting. You would have a restrictor jet in this place with a hose feeding back to the tank to return the fuel.
Another choise to bleed air out of the line is to use a manifold at the solenoid with aplate fitting screwed in and a restrictor jet at that location. Then a hose back to the tank..
Its not the cleanest look but its cheap..

i might just bite the bullet and buy a good one from the beginning.. but if there are other ones that work and saves a few bucks i would still be interested in hearing them.

If you are running a low pressure system you can runthe cheap holley regulator. They are the best out there and real simple. They are a dead head style you can run it that way or make it a return style real quick like Dave said.
But you are trying to run stockish fuel pressure you will be spendig alot more. Good luck
