Default How to aviod Nitrous pops?

Im not a nitrous know it all but I have had it on a car and helped install it a time or two and such. Iv been waiting to put in on my Firehawk but Im soo afraid that something will happen and burn the thing to the ground? Iv never seen it happen in person but god I see vids of it poping and then the cars on fire, then its junk! If it wasnt a Firehawk Id probably be ok with it but I had to burn my pride and joy up!

How or Can this be avioded on a wet kit? Does a Fuel Pressure safty switch help with that? Is it caused by just leaving the switch on and then starting it? Maybe Nitrous isnt for me after all..Ruined my last motor..but it also had 206,000 Miles on it!!!!

The reason for 99.9 percent of the nitrous back fires you see are due to an improper tune, boging the car upon launch, or taging rev limiter while spraying.

They could have all been avoided by simply tuning the car using the correct spark plugs and using a window safety switch.

The nitrous back fires can happen with both dry and wet nitrous systems when not used properly.

Another key thing is to use a quality product designed for todays environments.

If used properly you shouldn't have anything to worry about. 206k is a lot of freakin miles!!

Yeah 206,000 whats on the orginal motor. It was in an 87 GTA Trans Am. 350 TPI, took a 125 for a long time. I stepd it up to a 200 shot once..and that was the last time she ran. I didnt adjust timeing, no new plugs..was a big mistake..if I would have takin my time it would probalby still be runing..what happend it broke an intake valve..other than that I think it would have kept going!! lol..Iv always had good luck with Zex and a lot of buddys have used it. I might stick with what Iv had good luck with..but idk..Im needing a rearend first!

if using nitrous solenoid with screens as filters, make sure you dont catch the screen when tightening the fittings. i know from personal experience!

this is what happens when you spray a 150 shot of fuel & have a plugged nitrous solenoid! lol

the bang & huge fireball that flew out from under the car wasnt even scary, it was the fact the car was idling on the rev limiter that worried me! well that & when i looked over at the wife, she was giving me the "you're dead when we get home" look! lol

Cold engines cause some backfires too, especially in carb'd setups.
