Arrow 317 castings any good for nitrous?? other motor questions as well...help

i am currently in the process of building a iron 370. i wanted to run a set or prc 2.5 ls6 heads but i am thinking i am gonna save the cash for now and just use the 317s. are these heads any good for nitrous? also what cam and main bearings are good for a 150-200 wet shot? and i plan on going with a 10.1 motor no higher than 10.5.1 with a tr224 cam or a tsp 224r both on a 114lsa. any advice on internal parts would be great along with any advice in general...

How much are you going to spray??? Unless you are going all out (which it doesn't seem like by the specs of the motor thus far) just build an engine that works well na and spray it... Remember though... Nitrous LOVES compression... I'd try to get around 11.0-5:1 on a street car to maximize the setup

Agreed.

For 150-200 the cam isn't gonna be a big deal at all. Just get one that will do good N/A.

The 317's are fine.

Most bearings are pretty much the same, any name brand will be fine. Some people like the coated bearings but I don't think they make any difference to be honest. They just cost a little more LOL. Just check all of your clearances and use a quality assembly lubricant and go through the proper torque sequence and specs.

I'm with Baked on the bearing issue... I've got durabond coated bearings in my engine.

well my original goal was to be around 11.1 but i can only get access to 91 octane in california. so i was thinkin 10.5.1 was the most i could run. i plan on runnin the 150 most of the time and jet it for a 200 if need be. this is just a st car, my dd actually so i will be na most of the time. also if i use a nitrous cam does that mean it will not run good na or will it be the same as any other cam?

No but with only spraying 150-200 any cam will work just fine. Unless you are spraying a BIG shot the cam isn't gonna make much difference if any. Just get a good N/A gam and let it eat.
