Default Quick ? About gauge port.

Just picked upa nano system and have a half full bottle. In order to install the check valve on the n2o bottle i have to remove the bottle heater switch from the gauge port. Can i do this with nitrous int he bottle, or do I have to completely empty it? Im thinking since it doesnt read pressure when the bottle is closed I can do it but dont wanna have nitrous shooting out when I do it.

Its a HSW regular 10lb bottle just bought a couple months ago. Thanks for the help. I didnt even know what to type in to search lol

Do you have this type of fitting coming off your bottle nut? Little confused.

Okay look closely. I have a pressure switch mounted off the bottle, going into a gauge adapted in this picture. See it? Your pressure switch is mounted where my gauge is in the picture?

no, picture your gauge as my pressure switch, screw that directly into the bottle port. there is NO blue fitting.

and this is hooked into the gauge port on the bottle, not the main line or bottle nut like you mentioned above.

I have that pressure switch that you have on the main line hooked where your gauge is ont he bottle.

I ran the gauge after the filter on the main line.

Thats what I was told. Directions on my install said to check for leaks when your get your bottle filled around the gauge. So I would think it gets constant pressure. I had to empty my bottle yesterday. Let me tell ya, make sure your not holding the bottle with your hands because that bastard froze my fingers.

If you pull the pressure switch out of the gauge port you are going to lose everything in the bottle. That gauge port is under pressure.

Yes definatly DO NOT remove anything from the gauge port or the blowdown port while the bottle has anything in it. If you've never seen Mythbusters when they knocked the valves off of the bottles, I recommend watching it...haha great example of what happens with an instant release of pressure...and granted its a larger orifice size, but you'll get the point.

You will need to have the bottle empty in order to put the checkvalve on the bottle.

My first time turning the bottle on, I had a leak because the bottle nut wasnt on tight enough. Scared the living turds outta me.
