Default 383 LT1, 175 shot, fuel questions.

Building a fully forged LT1 383. I will occasionally use a 150-175 shot of Nitrous on it. I have Racetronix 37lb injectors. My question is what is my best solution for a fuel pump? Will the stock one work? The other choices I am considering if the stock one won't work are a Walboro 255, a Kenne-bell boost-a-pump or add an in-line pump. I'm willing to listen to other suggestions also.

Actually I am building the motor right now and the cars all down with the rear end and tranny out, that's why I'm asking now, when it's easy to get to.

Racetronix kit and a single 255 would be close to maxxed. You could probably get by with it though, just add a FPS on your nitrous kit so if the pump fails then your kit turns off.

Tony.

What about using a boost-a-pump or an in-line pump after the stock pump, would that be a safer option? I am planning on using a FPS no matter what.

The best option is the Racetronix wiring kit. Its all weatherpacked and soldered. It does the job to keep voltage under load and its good with a 255p for 600hp.

as speeddensity said...racetronix kit and you should be fine.

More details on the 383 plans would help us to know for sure...big difference in AFR 227 headed solid roller monster and a ported stock head castings with a mild hydraulic roller

Build will be stock ported heads, unsure of cam yet, going to call Comp Cams with my info and get a custom grind. Car will be mostly a DD with occasional trips to the road course and drag strip. Heads were ported by a local guy who used to work for Roush, flow numbers close to LE2 numbers.

Actually after talking to Keene-Bell today I am kind of leaning towards the boost-a-pump with the stock pump.

Sounds like you already had your mind made up before you posted. You'll be fine with a 255 and a wiring kit.
