Default LTx car joins the 9 sec club

I went out Sunday the 19th to do some further testing on the kit. I have had some opti issues and lost the rotor a few weeks back at the Ltx Shootout. I chose to put a cap and rotor on which I'm always against and it now has a little miss issue above 6500 rpm NA and worse on spray as I found out yesterday. I will be doing a new Opti soon with a riveted rotor and modified stock cap.

anyway so we headed out to the track ( approx 60 miles each way ) with a chance of rain and we made out good with the weather..thank god

The track was not as good as normal and I could not hook the car. I'm still trying to figure out the Hoosier over the M/T's I have ran for the past 2 years and they worked awesome. I need to also confirm pinion angle and check over my rear control arm bushings as something just doesn't seem correct. I had to replace them before from being worn since I use poly as I hate the noise of rod ends being this is a street car.

I had the window switch and 3200, tires at 18, foot brake to 2500 and blew the tires off..no shake.

I then went to 3600 on the window switch, 16psi tires, foot brake 2000 rpm with shake/chatter.

I then went to 3700 on the window switch, 16 psi, foot brake 2000 rpm with shake/chatter.

I wanted to leave all out, but still reached my goals yesterday for ET/MPH. I still have some left in the combo as it sits and even more if I decide to up jet it

best pass was #2 and was as follows

60ft 1.409
1/8 6.192
1/8 111.9
1/4 9.699
1/4 139.67

200 shot

short end of things :

97 Z/28
3300ish race weight in street trim

I have maybe 80 or so #'s I can pull for race trim.. ( 4" catback and pass. leather seat )

396 ci / 12.4:1
LE H/R 245/253 .611/.611 105
Speed Inc. ported stock heads and intake
58MM TB
LPP 1 3/4 to 1 7/8 LT's, custom ORY with 4" catback
LS1 lid conversion with Chrs1313 RA
FLT Level 7 4L60E
Yank SS3600
S60, spool and 3.73 gear
Hoosier 275/60/15
Street Lites..powder coated centers
Strange drag brakes

Nitrous Outlet plate kit, heaters, bottle mounts, bottles, purge, etc, etc

thanks FLT, Nitrous Outlet and Yank for helping with some awesome products and support to make this possible

few pics

Man that car is sweet! I notice you went to a lid setup vs the solid pipe over the rad... Did you notice a difference from that swap?

Larry,
That car is awesome. I love how you have made everything look like it belonged their from the factory. Can the Chris1313 RA mod be done to a 96 WS6 T/A ?

Congrats on the PB Larry!!! I love to see LTX cars get down, especially when they look as good as they run.

I hate to have things look out of place. The goal is always to be clean and simple with the look as if it should be this way as you noted.

I did a lid conversion on BADHAWKS car as well with his larger then stock hood. The lid conversion with RA can be done with a stock WS6 hood and believe someone had pic in the LTx section.

Are you saying the RA mod can be done on 96/97 WS6 without modification ? If so, I'm definitely interested ! Can you direct me to the link

Beautiful car. Awesome to see another LTx in the 9s. I owned two of them back in the 90s and killed many Mustangs with them.

I'm not saying no modification will be needed to work, but try searching the LT section on this forum as I do believe there was someone who did it.

I think it runs o.k for some stock parts and surprises some people especially when I am blowing by trailer cars driving home

I think you can get your number with some suspension changes and more testing.
