Default What made you choose Nitrous ?

A ride in a friends car , cheaper than FI ...? I've never had or been in a car with nitrous. Just curious.

cheap power, plain and simple. also less weight, and just my opinion here, but when used safely, it's less hassle than a FI setup.

FI generally cannt match the power of a 150 wet shot in terms of actual track times, especially street racing. You would need a pretty expensive/complex FI setup to run against a car with some good power mods and a 150+ wet shot. You will see SC and Turbo cars with 600+ rwhp that will run .5 seconds slower than a nitrous car that makes 450+ rwhp at the track. Easier to use and maintain than turbo setup. I have a mild 382 stroker and am adding a 150-200 shot to it. I doubt I will enounter a FI setup around my area that will give me too much trouble (except for a C5 with a LPE stg. 1+ turbo, boost controller, uilt bottom end, and about 600-650 at the wheels).

I like the fact that i maintain drivability over FI and H/C cars. With the stock internals i drive in comfort then turn on the bottle and its a fire breathing dragon. plus its cheaper and easy to tune. Only down side is keeping the bottle full

Damn! Do they have any extras laying around? I could use a N20 set up.

Cough *up the shot* cough cough...

I'd be surprised if it all that power makes the car move forward enough to pose a threat to you.

You get 150+ Hprse power for as little as 500 dollars. where else can you find that deal.
I love my juice.
Plus for the same price as a 5000 dollars++ FI system you can do H/C LT's N20 Exhaust Tires wheels, subframes, lower control arms, and get a tune.
The you can go run 10's Sounds like a winner to me.

The only way I would recomend venom is if it WAS free....I would recomend using a system that has some good technical assitance backing it up..the "tech" at venom is an ex helicopter mechanic who coud care less about cars or making HP....it's a paycheck to that cat....there are people who have had luck with the vcn2000 (debiandog) but the problems I had with it (vcn1000) were usually worked out on this sight...there was a guy on another LS1 websight that figured out the nozzle needed to be upstream flowing through the MAF instead of right on the TB.....Jose (venom tech) to this day will still tell you that's wrong......dont buy a venom kit.

New mods this year!!!!! Shooting for 10's Will be happy with low 12's NA and low 11's on the hose though. I would have 10's with a 12 bolt and slicks! I think.

Nitrous is the best bang for your buck horsepower. I recently purchased a NOS NOSzle system, just recieved it UPS today. It cost $1200 but, hell...its adjustable to 300hp. Where else can you get that much horsepower for $1200? No where.

Nitrous is ideal for street cars, with nitrous my car will still get 19mpg, act stock most the time but still be able to click off bottom 11s on the squeeze.
