Default Home made N2O Stand Alone Fuel Cell

I had an extra 255lph fuel pump left over when I switched to the Stealth 340 pump. So, I decided to try and make a N2O fuel cell from off the shelf parts. The trickiest part was placing the fuel pump inside the fuel cell. Not alot of room to get your hand inside to tighten the fitting. Here is a list of parts I used:

RCI 1 Gallon fuel Cell - $101.95
Aeromotive pressure regulator - $131.95
Summit fittings - $40
Summit 3/8 hose - $25
Walboro 255lph fuel pump - Used from previous build (New $125.95)
ATL Electrical Bulkhead fitting - $21.95
Fragola Fuel Cell Pick-up - $12.95

Total w/ used pump - $333.80
Total w/ new pump - $459.75

Here are some pics

I want to do the same thing!

Do those 6 hex head screws come off making it easier to get inside the cell to tighten the fitting?

Is there a 1.5gal cell that is a little bigger?

One more question how do you like stealth 340? I want to do the exact same thing you did. Swap to the 340 and use the 255 for a stand a lone.

They do come off. I used a set of shorty wrenches that I have. I didn't see an off the shelf 1.5 gallon fuel cell. This one bare fits with out having to cut the sheet metal below the battery tray. I haven't noticed a difference with the 340 stealth. I wasn't suffering from any fuel issues. I just wanted the extra insurance of the larger pump.

Thanks. Now if I could just figure out what to do with all the wiring for the nitrous, fuel cell, and electric water pump.

I am not suffering from fueling issues either, but I am pulling from the rail currently and I am not going to go over a 200-225 shot while doing that because of only having a 255 and hotwire kit for voltage. I've thought about doing a BAP and using a Holley Blue or another 255 for the stand-a-lone, but since I plan on a bigger more powerful motor than this one(405rwhp unlocked 6000stall) it's still 'could' use the 255, but the 340 is what it needs for insurance.

Did it install easily into the fuel bucket?

Hell I might still just get a BAP and use a Holley black or blue for the nitrous cell.

Decisions decisions all comes to down to money, at least in my case it does.

The 340lph was an easy install. It wasn't any bigger than the 255lph pump. I cut out the trunk area just above the fuel tank and made a hinged door for easy access.

Very trick. Doing something similar on my carbed 402. Just a 10 gallon trunk mount, Holley Red pump and using the factory 3/8 fuel line to feed it. Should work well I hope.

I thought about a trunk mount but then I would have to put a metal plate separating the trunk from the interior. G/L with the build.

Thanks for the comments. The only hard part was getting the fittings correct. I changed the hose routing once I received the parts and was missing a few fitting. I also had to cutoff, tap, and plug the lower fuel feed fitting. It stuck out so far that the fuel cell would not fit in the battery area without cutting some of the fender well out. I am still missing the 90 degree fitting for the return line. I ordered it on Friday but since I am in Germany it probably won't be here until next week.

Let us know how you enjoy using the "Juice".

...and how many passes that fuel system is good for.
