What are the piston specs? Was it built with good forged internals? How are you going to spray? What is your compression ratio? What times are you trying to run at the track?

Well depending on your piston specs and cam specs. Also need to know your race weight, rear gears, and transmission type (A4 or M6)? If your just looking for 10's maybe a 125 to 150 wet shot. If your cam is not spec'ed for nitrous tho, maybe different. If your car weights also too, maybe need more.

Interested in this too. Contemplating a sleeved block, so about 0.300+ more piston skirt support than stock LS2/3 block. But is the usual 1.05 - 1.110 comp height piston good for 150-200 shot?

i think you are way bettter of with a custom build but if you only want to run deep into the 10's you should be able to do that with a 50 shot. how much is the lsx 454 you are looking at?

You don't need that motor to run 10's!
A good 408 with a good set of heads like 235cc Trick Flows as cast off the shelf, a good custom cam, decent compression (11:1) and a good working suspension(adjustable shocks, lower control arms and torque arm and an understanding of how to set each up) it will run 10's on motor.
On a 100 shot it should go 10.0's if not high 9's.
Get a good custom converter spec'd out and a custom cam spec'd out and you will hit your goals with money to spare.
Put a super victor intake on it and that throttle body you are looking at and a good plate kit like one from Nitrous Outlet, Induction Solutions or Wilson.
The converter is the main thing really that will dictate how fast you go.
