Lightbulb NEWB- Direct port questions!

Hey guys, first of all i have TNT N20 kit i JUST bought and got in yesterday. COmplete kit with trick performance window switch. Wsa going to run that on a 100 shot. But now i have another option

A friend of mine local to me has a ZEX DIrect port kit he wants to sell me for $300. I THINK the price is pretty good, but i have never even HELD a full bottle yet. He said its missing a fuel line, becuase most guys run a dedicated fuel cell when they do direct port. Do i need a dedicated cell, and is there anything i need to watch out for or should know about in advance on a direct port kit? Thanks for your time!!!

It makes it easier to run a stand alone fuel cell with any wet nitrous kit. I personally run a stand alone on my car. I guess you could run it off the fuel system, but need to make sure you have a big enough fuel pump to supply your needs. How big of a shot are you looking to run and how often? A direct port kit is the best way to run nitrous because you will be getting the same amount of nitrous in each cylinder, as opposed to a plate kit or single nozzle and hoping it is evenly divided into the cylinders by airflow.

A 150 shot with a direct port is not such a good idea. Even running low pressure systems
the jet sizes will be very small.
Direct port systems seem to be better suited for 225 or bigger hits.

Most guys run 200 or 300 on a direct port set up kinda defeatin the purpose goin 150 Since your a new to nitrous person Ya might wanna start with that nozzle & get good at reading plugs before you go nuts lol Right now Ive got the NX MAF thats 2 stages but after the cars done im gettin a DP lol Itll be set on 300 Just take baby steps or youll end up blowin your motor Then youll have a bad taste in your mouth & bad mouth nitrous Seen it alot Read all the stickies since your a newb & Not Paul Walker or Vin Diesel lol

Not a fan of anything zex. Made with small cheaper solinoids and not made for upgrading.

I understand everything your saying, but a direct port kit should be SAFER than a fogger? I know its supposed to be used for bigger hits, but Nitrous outlet said it would work fine, just a waste of $$ for that small of shot. But i got the system CHEAPER than a used fogger kit froma buddy. So why not?

If it were mine & the motor was built for it I would do 100 on the fogger for a first stage & 200 or 300 on the DP Since youve got choices lol Its just a lil more wiring Definately upgrade to a walbro & hardwire kit from racetronix If you do both kits get the340lph with upgrades 2 kits has to be twice the fun lol Just need 2 bottles to swap out Then when money allows upgrade to brand x or NX noids

Why is it advised to use a direct port with 225 shot or larger? What is the science behind it? Sorry for hijack!

The fuel jets become very, very small and therefore vulnerable to
getting clogged. Also small fuel jet flow, is seriously affected by any small
fuel pressure variance.

What typically clogs them? Just common debris found in any fuel system? Wouldn't it screw the solenoids up first before it would the jets? SOrry for newb questions...new to nitrous.
