Default ARE's 400 shot 8.5 camaro with TNT direct port

Anyone know if they were spraying all 400 off the line on thier silver camaro? I was talking to one of the TNT techs about moving up to thier direct port. And he was telling me how on ARE's camaro (resleeved ls1 block), they were spraying a little over 400 to the tire with thier direct port.... DAMN.

You are correct, it was a resleeved block that was used all season and all the nitrous was hit off the line.

Yes, they were spraying a large dose on a resleeved motor with C5R heads, Jesel belt drive, TH350 powered car. It was very impressive. I didn't really see if they used a controller or time delay on the car, I do not presume so. Maybe Nick knows some of the details.

I tore my ARE block down after spraying 300 shots on it and didn't find any problems with the sleeves. I'm planning on hitting it as hard or harder this year. ARE Definitely has the dry sleeving process down. That's a pretty well established fact at this point.

I only like the added thickness of the wet sleeves. Only thing I dislike about them is the lack of bore retention at the top end of the bores. The slightest of tolerance between the block and top end of the sleeve will definitely be interesting to watch this year.

Derty,

I know for a fact there was no controller used on the car. If there is traction and everything is built right, engine, tranny, car's suspension etc.. there's no reason why you don't let it all hang off the trans brake. There's other ways to make the car leave softer instead of using a controller.

Roger,

Thanks for the feedback. I didn't know and didn't want to speculate either way.

Ouch thats a hell of a hard hit! I just cant picture leaving on that much spray and not being REAL hard on the motor.

Did they ever hurt the thing or have any problems with it at that much nitrous??
Any tips you guys found to setup the car to leave on that much, like the amount of timing on the hit they pull or the way they spray it.

Trying to break records everything you do is hard on parts. But the motor was used all season racing in a heads up OSCA True street class.

As for tips please feel free to contact the shop and speak with Dave Diluca. His 94 Nitrous Z over 3 years ago has gone 9.11 @ 155 mph.
