Any body running nitrous w/o window switch
I am wondering if anybody is running w/o a msd window switch. I have the throttle switch and i want to come off the line on the bottle when its wot. I've heard that if your rpm is to low it will backfire. Does anybody have any luck doing this setup w/o a window switch.

Not sure, never had a setup to try it with. I can't imagine it would be any more prone to it than any other way. Just keep your foot into it! I think you are more prone to back firing by getting in and out of it. It's no different then starting out at a lower RPM on a dyno and stabbing it. Granted the car is rolling, but it transitions from 2500 to 3000 into WOT just fine. You could always put a .1 second delay into your WOT switch with a timer. Or just get a window switch if you're that concerned. Fairly cheap unit for what it does.

You can get a Digiset Make-On-Brake timer relay. You wire your wot switch into it and then the timer relay has an output for the solenoid relay. I run one on mine as well so that I can tune the car in for index racing. I set it to zero when I want to run full tilt.
They are about 60 dollars from an electronics store and $160 dollars from NX or NOS when they stick it in their own box with their own stickers. There is nothing physically different about them. FWIW, It's about the same price as a window switch. And if you don't want to control when it comes on as long as it's in the window, then don't worry about using one.

I would get a window switch. Cheap insurance. My friend lost his whole car to a N20 backfire. I run one in my A4.
And I come off the line with N20.

I have been thinking about this a lot................I think I am going to just get a window switch and set it at 3200. I thought about using a timer also, but I am only spraying a 125 shot. With a wot and a window switch it should be very safe.....................at the same time it should still hit soon enough in the run to get good traction.

i run no window switch. i do run a delay box but only for traction/wheelie issues. however i run alot without delay and never had an issue, but i leave off the t-brake.
this weekend i took the delay out and forgot to move my 2 step up, so i let go of the brake at 3,000 rpm with a 200 shot no delay and BOOM nice back fire.
so off idle im going to say it wont work. a timmer will tho. kick in like a 2 tenth delay hit it off the line if your converter is right it will flash right away, then the spray will hit.

What made it backfire at 3,000 rpm when you came off the brake? I was thinking about getting a brake and just having the nitorus just come on when i released the brake.
