Default 300-500 via a dry kit, got questions

Looking for people doing it. If you don't want to post publicly, I would love a PM from you.

I am running E85 and my current injector duty cycle at idle is 4-6% with a 60lb injector at 58psi. I make 516rwhp on motor and seeing about 90% IDC at that.

I worry that IDC at idle with a 120lb injector at 58psi is going to go down in the < 2-3% range and it might be hard to control at that stage.

So are you running a secondary EFI system like a megasquirt for the added fuel on the unit?

If using a factory PCM, are you doing it on a 1 bar SD tune? Or what are you doing here?

I am leaning towards dry as the fuel jets with a high pressure system are rather small. Any little partical in the fuel system could really ruin my day

Right now 1st stage is a 70n/42f, second stage will most likely start out a dual 52n/31f.

Any info you are willing to share would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a ton!!

You dont need 120lb injectors.
We went 7's with 83lb injectors.

Get away from E85 its not a good nitrous fuel for 300-500.
C16 for 300
C23 for 500

If you want the motor to live. JMO

I see it as not having enough octane. I think e85 is like 105 octane and then the stuff you get from the pump isn't always true e85. It can vary depending on who is doing the mixing.

From what I have seen it is hard to read the plugs.
Nitrous doesnt need the cooling effect or oxygen it brings its own.

For a DD on a 150 shot its great.
For a race car with 300-500 on it use race fuel.

Been down the nitrous road & tried lots of fuels....
93octane @ pump gas drags
Sunoco 110

VP N20
C23

I have helped a few "street car" guys with e85 tunes.
There is a reason NO ONE with a fast nitrous car uses E85.

Just trying to help save you a motor.

I guess fast is a relative term

Local guy to me is running e85 and has gone low 150's and is working towards the 160 mark all while on E85 with 2 plate kits. I believe he has gone 147mph on a single 78n jet.

He has been doing this in a 3,400lb s10 with a SBC in it. If memory serves it runs mid 10's na and he has been running e85 for the last 2 years.

I stand corrected:

9.23@148 on a single 78n plate:

8.79@155 on the 2nd stage:

Just because someone is making it work doesn't mean it's the right thing to do

No way! What are you trying to do blow it up? He needs the TR55.

But seriously why dont you just run a low pressure stand alone wet? For what you are spending on new injectors you could do it.

Is it the best fuel for spray no....can it work yes....test it start small and safe and no reason it cant be used....hell people have used 93 and sprayed 300+ I it the best fuel not at all but you can work with it as everyone does not or can not do $15/gal fuel. Me I like E85 never had issue and sticking to it....plenty of guys have done 300+ with it and motors lasted.

As far as injectors good 120lber's should idle decent with a good tuner imo....but hell a cam for 500 worth of nitrous is not going to be a 700rpm idle either.

I will pm you some IDC and total lb/hr numbers...when I get back to good ole USA in like 2 weeks.
