Default I think I killed my stock motor yesterday.

Yeah I think she went bye bye when one or both of my solenoids went haywire and stuck(I suppose) and it all went to hell. I'm gunna go start pulling her down in a bit.

I'm planning on buying a head/cam 6.0 litre if the stocker is beyond resonable repair.

Any opinions or tips?

do you run a filter, and both stuck open.. sounds like a wiring issue.

My guess is the fuel noid stuck closed. This happens the plunger swells from bad gas. No added fuel, lean condition engine bye bye....

I rebuild mine, when racing, on a yearly basis. Preventative maintenance helps...sorry your motor got toasted. I hope it can be saved.

sorry about your car.

what can you do to prevent this from happening other than rebuilding it every year? are there any signs of a solenoid going bad and sticking?

no signs, no warning, regular maintenance is your friend.

the solenoid rebuild kit
comes with destructions (instructions but my word for them...hahaa) and is
really simple. there is really no need for instructions, the solenoid is a simple
device with only 1 moving part and a large magnet. hope that helps...

edit: forgot to mention, you can check them by activating and hearing them
click open/closed but that doesn't mean they are safe. make sure you take off
nos/fuel supply lines before doing so or you'll fill your motor and either hydro-lock it (fuel - will bend rods, etc.) or make it go boom (with NOS - intake will come off) sitting in the motor and start it.

I check the solenoids the say before and they seemed to be clicking fine. But owell I guess its time for a new engine anyway...... I just hate this one grenaded. I haven't gotten it out yet I have been messing around with my 68 camaro trying to get the engine dropped in it and get it moving so I can have some extra room in teh shop.

Thinking of.... 6.0 litre stock bore, diamond pistons, stock rods and crank(cryeod), studs, rings, bearings, stage 2 6.0 heads, something along the lines of a 234/240 or 232/240 on a 112 camshaft topped off with an LSX with a direct port with some 150 or 175 pills.
