Default 150 shot getting knock keep bumping down timing?

I have a 98 c5 spraying it with a 150 wet shot. I originally pulled 8 deg timing leaving me at about 20-21 total timing and logged for knock and had none making a single gear pull (3rd gear). where i see knock is a soon as i shift into the next gear. Ex: 2nd gear roll i don't see any knock until shifting into 3rd. I have taken timing out of it twice taking me to about 16-18 deg total timing i feel like I'm chasing my tail. Any help would be awesome. Thanks!!

How are you pulling timing ? Hp tuners? Lnc2000? And dumb question were you getting knock prior to the nitrous activation? 8 degrees seems a bit much for 150 shot ..I wouldov started pulling 6 degrees then check plugs... are you sure your noids are working? Hope this helps

Could be just that silly rich and the load of 3rd gear helps it show up some knock.

I agree with you completely on that. OP if you decide to take this route and need any help reading the plugs, don't be afraid to ask.

My plugs look good timing mark a little before the bend have a light light brown color on the porcelain and no pitting or spots...What else should I look for?

Did you have any idle time on those plugs our did you shut it right after the pass?

Right after the pass . I'm leaning more to it being burst knock because it start giving me timing right back

friends car was also giving knock on the shifts due to some worn out stock motor mounts. Put in some poly ones and it went away. we were scratching our heads for a while on it. Since you have HPT i would just get rid of the burst knock retard and see if that clears it up.

Go to Engine>Spark>Retard Burst knock should be in the upper right corner. Go to vs RPM and zero it out.

What Octane Fuel are you using ?? You never mentioned the Fuel Octane that you are using when you spray your engine.

You should be using 100 Octane Race Fuel to make good power & to prevent Detonation while injecting Nitrous Oxide.
