Default question for Nitrous Express

I have a 2000 ta with a fpss for 50 psi. My nitrous hit started acting funny. So i decided to check it out. My solenoids are fluttering when engaged. So i grounded my nos solenoids by bypassing the safety switch and they worked fine. But i thought the fpss was either off or on not intermittent. So is the fpss bad or is my fuel pump getting weak?

Do you have a fuel pressure gauge as well?

It could be an issue with either one but what fuel pump are you using? Also what size shot are you spraying?

factory fuel pump, the solenoids will do it while idling. I checked the fuel pressure 100 miles ago. I am spraying 100 shot. I bypassed the fpss and ran the car and a/f was 12.4.

Could be that under WOT your pressure drops to right about 49-51, causing the FPSS to engage and disengage the noids. You can try dropping the FPSS to like 45 psi or so and see if that fixes it. Stock pump may be going out, that's why it use to work and is starting to have problems now, the pump is starting to lose it's ability to hold pressure.

Put a gauge on it an see where your fuel pressure is at.

EDIT-- Even simpler, just bypass the FPSS and see if it still does it.

You should consider investing in a decent fuel psi gauge. A simple diagnostics hand held unit will do and is a helpful tool to have workin out any fuel related Iissue's in general.

You said they run fine when you bypass the safety switch? Odds are there may be something wrong with the FPSS. If you want to call me to talk a little bit more about this thats fine. 940-767-7694. Other than that you can send the switch in here and I will personally test it and get you taken care of. Hope to help you resolve this issue buddy.

Thanks for your time,
Garrett

I do agree a Fuel Pressure Gauge is something handy to have, for both diagnostics, and nitrous systems!
