Default Plug vs Shot

Guys what's the rule of thumb people are working on in relationship to how many steps colder you go on a plug vs shot size.

One step colder per 75-100 hp seems to be the general average

What he said. General rule of thumb is 1 step cooler per 100 hp.

Thanks guys. I'll be running a 150shot. And stock for me is a BPR6. So I'll go a 7 and see how it goes as it's mostly a street car that won't get sprayed all that often. So ideally an 8. But not to keen on that for majority running just on motor. Are there tuning tweaks to reduce the need to go 2 steps colder.

The BR7 will be perfect for your application. That's what i'm running on a HCI 6.0 with a 100 shot. With a good tune there will be no issues with this plug

The plan is to go a 150shot though so going off the above advice going to an 8 would be preferred. I'd just like to know if there is a way to mitigate having to go to the 8. i.e. run it richer/leaner/less timing?

Well I use a 8 with a 300 shot.......Think a 8 for 150 is a little crazy

The BR7 will be just fine with a 150 shot on your setup. Why exactly do you think you need an 8?

Just the rules I'm hearing are 1 step colder per 100shot. Can't do half sizes after all. But thanks I'll run with the 7.

Well the BR7 is 2 steps colder than stock, and it doesn't have a projected tip. It really is more than fine just so you know
