Default LS1 400 shot GO BIG OR go home

Stock cubes ls1. Eagle crank,k-1 H beams with ARP2000, Wiseco -3.2cc pistons,Cometic.04 headgasket,ls6 ported heads(not milled),fast 102,TSP228r and rings are setup for low boost (do not know wexact gap) engine has 500 miles on it and i have all supporting mods to put the power to the pavement. drag radials,9 inch , chromly diveshaft ,tq arm etc.... Whats the biggest shot i can put in it without blowning it up and still have it last a while???. I would of course be using a window switch and timing tuner.

Yeah i'd start with maybe a 200 shot and go from there. A 400 shot (even if everything can handle hit) a really big hit to start right off with lol

Depends on the ring dimensions, material, and bore size.

..along with the ring gap, how much timing you plan on pulling? What plugs? You know how to read plugs? Etc, etc..

I hope you know these things, cause going "BIG" without knowing what to do is a recipe for disaster.

Go with multiple stages and a controller that does multiple stages and progressive. 400 on one hit without serious tires and suspension is not going to work very well.

I was going to do the rule of thumb of 2 degrees per 50 hp but with that big of a shot id get it dyno tuned into the timing tuner to make sure. The pistons are Wiseco -3.2cc flat top pistons

You do that and you'll be putting pistons in it.

Been there, done that, got the tshirt... I would highly suggest starting at 200 and working your way up on the tune up. We've also found that a stock cube motor really doesn't respond to much more than 350 worth of n2o. Granted this depends on intake cam and cylinder heads also. My experiences were with a super vic, ported 225's and a custom grind Hyd roller. Timing and good plugs will be a tricky subject. I'd suggest ngk10's

^He's suggesting more timing pulled. The 2* per 50 hp is out the window for that size shot.

Plus he is also saying that tuning on the dyno doesn't put a load on the drivetrain like launching at the track would. So on the dyno you would be able to put more timing in it and you will see a big hp number. Now when you run it at the track with that little timing pulled it is going to go . So if it were me, I'd be going to the track and tuning it starting with a 150-200 shot and go from there on the jets.

Here is what only 5* pulled on a 200 shot on the dyno looked like after a track pass. It bent the crank also.

^^^ Hold it, you should have pulled 8 degrees for that 200 shot. Of course 5 was going to kill it, LOL.

I know 5* would kill it. If it were me I would of pulled more than just 8 though.
