Default 300 hit on a 12-1 motor, what plugs?

I didn't want to raise a thread from the dead with all my searching. I have a 402 12-1 static with a 300 hit. For motor I run TR6's but cant for the life of me remember what I was gonna run on the gas, either the BR7 or BR8. Im guessing with a 300 hit 3 ranges colder with the 8 is the safe bet. Am I correct?

I would use at least a 9 maybe a 10. It depends on what your engine wants. This is just my opinion.

Every set-up is different! I'm using NGK 11s on a .093 N2O and .039 fuel jet with total timing of 11 degrees. Timing mark was as aggressive as I would like to see on my hottest cylinder.

We have been using the 5820 for quite some time. Do not use a projected
tip plug at this level.

What heads do you have? Look at the plug recess, it's probably machined flat on the outside of the taper. You should be able to use a gasket seat.

Can you use gasket plugs on the L92/LS3 heads too?

That im not sure, I was under the impression my heads needed a taper plug but infact use gasket seat plugs. Im surprised it ran at all.

To see just pull a plug and use a small inspection mirror to look at the plug seat on the head, it will be obvious if its a taper or gasket seat.

BTW found part number 6962 ngk as a projected heat range 6 plug to swap out my TR6's, is this the correct plug?

^NO.. Why would you put another HOT projected plug in there in the first place?

With that size shot, motor ci and compression, put a 11 plug (#6596) in there like CanadianEh posted. Gasket plugs should work fine for stock or aftermarket heads. I'm using them on my 5.3s. Just gotta torque 'em down several turns to crush the gasket.

The heat range 6 plug is for motor only. I still drive this car on the street quite a bit and never spray on the street.. Thank you for the part number for the 11s I have not been able to find it and it wasn't in the post

No prob, but I wouldn't even run #6 projected plug on that 400ci N/A.. At least a BR7 plug (#3346) IMO..

Btw, I drive around with #11s. The tune is the key.

Ya I don't seem to be fouling the 6s but am worried I would foul the 11s. I do quite a bit of low rpm driving and have yet to find a tuner in OK. BTW 6962 is the 6 heat gasket seat projected the 3346 is a taper seat non projected.

-6 heat range is too hot. NGK R5671A-7 is what I would run on motor.

BKR7E? iv found quite a few 7 heat range gasket seat .750 reach plugs. I'd rather run a resistor plug than a non for motor runs. Thanks for all the help
