Default 50 shot = time wise

I've got a buddy spraying 150 his times are 6.50 how much will another 50 be good for? I had heard a rule of thumb that a 100 was = to 1sec.

That's a bad formula. The difference between a 5.50 and 6.50 is waaaaaay more than the difference between a 9.50 and a 8.50.

I bet a 50 shot, going that fast already, may get him a couple tenths. The faster you go, the more you need to keep going faster and faster.

To go faster in the 1/8th takes a lot more substantial changes than 1/4 mile racing. How is he bringing in the shot? Progressive or all in on the hit?

I would be trying to make changes to suspension and tire to make it hook. He shouldn't have to progress a 150 very long or at all on a well prepped track.

It also kind of depends on his mph too. a 6.5@102 would gain much more than a 6.5@117. Ya feel?

The law of diminishing returns states that after a certain point (called the point of diminishing returns), additional input to a system of production will produce less and less output.
Just isn't going to make much if any difference on a car already that fast.

^^^ this is what u should be more concerned about... the fastest I've gone on the same shot is 6.18 @ 108. Reason being is my 60ft is mid 1.2s and I don't use a progressive and I'm on radials... dial in the suspension. I run double adjustable on all corners long ta 3.90 gear. Just be careful trying to leave really hard. Don't no how much ur car weighs but when I started leaving really hard off a trans brake with everything it had i found out real quick I have to much front shock travel and it went on the bumper... cool for photos but wasn't to cool on my wallet

my car would run 7.6-7.7 on motor and on a 75 shot it would average 7.2-7.3

On a slower car it makes a bigger difference.

Maybe this will help ?
