When to move to 6 bolt block/heads
Would like to eventually be able to run a 300 shot through a money maker, stepping it up slowly from a 150 of course. My question is at what point do I need to start worrying about head clamping force? Are oem cast ls7 heads alright for nitrous? I specifically only want to talk about head studs o-rings and what is needed to run large shots of nitrous 300-400

Go with your engine builders recommendation. If you trust him to build your engine, then you should trust his advice.
If I was building the engine, I probably wouldn't recommend 6 bolts if you are budget minded. If you're buying everything new such as an aftermarket block and heads, it's a no brainer to use the 6 bolt stuff. .035" ring gap sounds good for around 4.080-4.100 bore. If you're smaller than that, it won't hurt either.

Is there any downside to running that high of a gap except a small loss in hp and some blow by? I was going to run a catch can anyways. Just want to make sure that doesn't effect longevity of the motor. I've looked but can't find anything
