Default Having some issues, need a little advice...

I have a TNT f2 wet kit and have been having some issues.

Friday night at the track, I put in the 150 jets and got some pops in 3rd gear.

I thought it was lean, so I put in a little larger fuel jet on one side. The next pass was perfect with no popping.

Last night I took the car out and made a couple passes and it popped a few times again; only they weren't loud pops, just light ones; but it did slow the car down

My bottle pressure was only at about 750-800.

Here's my question: could it have been popping because I had a larger fuel jet in and wasn't getting enough pressure? Right now I'm heating the bottle up to 1050 and plan on making a pass to see if I was getting a pop and lack of performance because of low bottle pressure.

Any opinions?

FYI my car is a 98 c5 with cam, stall, ls6 intake and full exhaust.

what do you mean pop? is it coming from the exhaust or the engine?

It pops out the exhaust. When it pops, the car feels like it momentarily loses power.

I just realized that I put 89 oct. gas in for my last fill. I usually use 93 and was using 93 at the track Friday.

I'm also going to re-gap the plugs. They're at .040 right now and I think I might move them to .038.

I'm hoping it is just the fact that I have lower octane gas in it. Is this possible?

Running that low of an octane can cause detonation. Try running some premium. How much timing did you adjust or are you just spraying on the stock tune?

Is 93 ok with a 150 shot?

Is it preferable to mix 100 and 93?

NX Says that you can run premium up to around 150 or so. If you could find some 104 unleaded that would be cool too. You could mix your main tank with different octanes, but you have to know how much of each you have. I find it's a ton easier just to tune and deal with one octane rather then trying to mix it up.

I had the car tuned at Speed Inc. after the cam install. They knew I was going to be spraying, so they didn't lean it out to get me a few extra HP.

I'm going to run this crap tank of gas out of it and just use 93 octane from now on. I'll probably get some of that Torco additive the next time I go to the track. I'm also going to check the plugs just to be safe.

I hope the popping is just a result of low octane gas. The worst part is that the car has a full tank and it will be a while before I can get 93 with additive in it for more test and tune.
