Default wideband reading rich on nitrous (sponcers and tuners)

My wideband is reading 10.8 when spraying 150 shot. I am putting in recommended pills for my car, and have the correct fuel pressure. I am running 12.7 without nos. I was reading on another website about the wideband reading off when doing larger shots. Does anyone know if there is any truth to that. Because i do not want to lean it out blow it up.

A wideband is definitely a good thing to have. Even with nitrous. It will let you keep a good eye on things, but remember spark plugs are the ultimate tuning tool.

Whose system is this? What was the bottle pressure before the run? Filter clean?

We like to tune our nitrous half a point richer than what it likes on motor, 12.2 AFR in your case. If it is running that rich there is probably a bigger issue at hand.

Thanks,
Garrett

its a nos sniper system. 950-1000 psi and the filter is clean. i also have a 15lb bottle with a high flow valve. Will the wide band sensor read off at these hp levels of nitrous. I also pulled 8* of timing because i have a good tune. I have only been running 100 shot for a short while and trying to setup on 150 now. but i am new to nitrous and cant read plugs so I want to have a good starting point. My wideband shows 12.7 on motor, but with nitrous it shows rich when i spray i want to know if i should trust the wideband to start. The jets are n62 f36 on 2000 ta.I put in a f28 and it brought it up to 11.8. I dont want to continue to do that until I figure where the problem is. There is also a new racetronix 225 fuel pump in my car for the Nitrous system.

It sounds like it's just rich. If a 28 put it at 11.8:1, I'd leave it. Or get more aggressive with the A/F through the jetting. I don't think you have an issue, it was just the rich recommended jetting is a starting point for you to tune off of.

Thanks guys I think its just rich and I just went and put a 75 shot with recommended pills and it was still rich. All this started when I changed the fuel pump.

Keep going down on the jet size and do a quick hit, until you get it where you want it.

The jetting chart with any nitrous kit is just a recommend starting point, no big deal if you have to change the jetting to get it dialed in for your setup. With the new fuel pump you probably have higher fuel pressure making your NA tune richer also. Have you checked your a/f on your NA tune?

same thing with mine , mine reads about 13.0 on motor. my afr gauge reads abot .2 to .3 leaner then my turners good one. i was at 10.8 on the starting jets recommended. with a little time i dropped to 3 jet sizes and its still mid lower 11's . but i got old tires and cant properly load the car. so waiting on new rims and tires to come in. but in my experiences all the jetting that they give u to start with r pretty rich.

I hope I just found the problem. My nitrous has been reading rich and lean I have been watching it and its never consistent. My nitrous line from the back of the car was being pinched by the torque arm(added more zip ties). I am going to run it this week and see if it was the problem. I am currently out of nitrous, thus testing this week. I hope i did not ruin my line. We will see.

i have the same problem...on motor at WOT i see 11.8 to 12.1 ...AFR ..and on nitrous its drops down at 10,0 AFR ( lowest reading on aem wideband ) even when i put a leaner pill.......i've read on other forum and it does to same with e85 too

should i go 2 -3 number lower pill...( im 175 shot ) .to see if it will stop being pig rich ? ...or its a stoich thing

You can either take fuel out or add more nitrous to lean it out.

10.0 is way to freakin rich.

I'd pull timing out of and start dropping fuel jet sizes till you get where your AFR is close to your n/a AFR
