how does this set up sound?
So, i purchased a lq4 short block a while back that had arp2000 rod bolts in it already. i also have a set of 243 heads that are about to be sent out for porting. and a pretty mild cam, either the 1 i already have (specs : 228/230 .585"/.585" 112 lsa), or a gt11. and a 200 shot through my wet plate kit. my goal is to have a quick "sleeper-ish" car, making good power NA. and a 200 shot for when things get crazy.
1st question is does this sound like i am on the right track? any flaws you can see?
2nd question is will the short block be able to handle the power?
Thanks again for all your help!!

Not that big a fan of the cam specs, but it should make decent power in NA form, and on the 200 hit, it will be nice. What plate kit are you getting? Make sure you have all the accessories as well. A 200 shot on a stock short block is okay as long as the tune is good. Make sure you do not start out on a 200 shot. Start with a 100 shot, learn to read the plugs and make adjustments and work your way up to a 200 hit.

ya, i have just about every accessory on it right now. its a 78mm plate, on an ls6 intake. i think nos brand. right now its running a 100 shot in my bolt on ls1 for the rest of the season. i am hoping for 450+ NA. with either cam and the pnp 243's... i was just wondering if running the arp rod bolts would be enough to handle the kind of power i am looking for. i am running ford green top injectors, with a walbro 255 lph...
