whats up with this diect port stuff and equal length lines?
I have always heard that the direct port systems are supposed to have equal lenght lines to the solenoids and I have seen a few hard lined systems that DON'T have equal length lines.
What the hell is up what that?

Well I dont think being exactly identical is crucial personally. I wouldnt want them WAY off equal but a few inches off or something shouldnt make a difference. I think you should actually make the fuel line the shorter one.
Heres why i think this:
Take a 6 inch line fuel and nitrous going to a fogger.
On many direct ports, fuel pressure is 6-9 psi on a dedicated fuel system or carbueted setup, when its clicked how long does it take 6-9psi to travel 6" before it comes out the nozzle?
Then take the nitrous line @ 1100 psi. How long does it take it to go 6"??
Obviously the 1100 psi is going to go WAYYY quicker to the nozzle than the fuel.
So make the fuel line shorter in most cases eh?

Thats what I was thinking myself. But the direct port that is made to fit under the FRC's has like 3 inch lines for the inside cylinders and the outside cylinder lines are more line 8 or 10 inches or at least thats the way it looks.

Guys I will let you know it does not matter equal length or not. The time difference between 3 in and 10 inches will be the same in a direct port. You have to remeber that flow takes the path of least resistance. So it can not come out of the 3 lines jet until the 10line is full. Now the bends (angles) are were the problem can come from. You have hard 90' fittings on two ports and 2 straight fittings on the others, you will see a flow dfference. I have seen a direct port systems of a 302 ford. The shortest line was only 2" (front passaget side) and the longest line was all the way around to the other side rear (24"). It had one nitrous and one fuel. just my input

I was thinking more about the timing between the cylinders. I know the engine is spinning at speeds that are probably 3 times what the speed of the nitrous and fuel flow but somehow I would think that some cylinders might get more than others in just an instant and maybe effect the harmonics of the engine?
Maybe I'm thinking about this **** WAY too much though. lol
