Default Ls 6.0 iron block 150 shot

I'm doing engine rebuild I'm on the process off buying pistons now for all the experience guys what you think on the compression. Which would work better for daily driver. I wanna keep stock rods. And I'm just going for around 500whp

Wiseco K398X05 -3cc 4.005 with stock ls3 heads I'm looking around 10.3 compression
another piston the I was looking at will be. +9 wiseco 4.030 it will come out at 11.3 compression

I wanna do a 150 nitrous shot

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

i wouldn't worry so much about compression.... There are other factors way more important such as ring package and placement, alloy, and overall design.

You want a lowered first ring land, good alloy, a smoothed piston top. Gas porting is great as it will help ring seal.....

Compression can be handled through cam design to make it tolerable

all the info posted above. I've liked a flat top style piston for a better burn area or should say quench area.

With just a 150 shot, I don't think much of that is really going to matter. With that said, I'd shoot for the 11.3:1 compression piston.

I will politely disagree with this....

all of the things I mentioned will make the engine more efficient on nitrous.

Static compression ratio is pretty ranging too.... you can get vastly different nitrous characteristics all based on dynamic compression.

On more nitrous, i would agree. On a 150 shot you will not seeva noticeable improvement.

yeah, but who builds a forged motor and stays on a 150 shot? Better to build the motor right for a larger shot later.

Exactly, because you know that's what's going to happen. 150 worked good...why not 200...250...300...

And if you want 600 HP+, throw some dome pistons from summit in there. 11.5:1 with a cam and square ports? As long as the intake is decent that’s easy 600 HP

Do 10.3 or 10.5 so your tuning window isn't small 11.1 and up you'll want race gas mixed with pump for detonation reasons
