E85 in fuel cell?
Hey guys,
Right now i run a wet plate kit with a 100shot. I am thinking about adding a small fuel cell with race gas and bumping up my shot to a 150. A buddy of mine said to look into e85 for the fuel cell. Said id get about the same results for a lot less $$$$. And i wouldn't have to drive 30mins every time i needed a refill... also, how fast will the gas go? Say a 150 shot on a wet plate. My last question might be a stupid 1 but, cant hurt to ask right (again, assuming my buddy was right about even using the e85) .... would they be interchangeable for the fuel cell? Say i run e85 all the time but I can only get race gas where i am, is it a completely different tune? Or is there an equivalent in race gas?
Thanks in advance for all your help. And if my buddy is wrong, sorry for wasting any of your time.

If your Motor is running on pump gas now I would recommend using race gas in the fuel cell. The C16 is more consistent compared to E85. Remember with E85 it is a fuel that is not always consistent. Winter blend is already here in Texas and the ethanol is about E70 now. That much change is enough to cause you a retune. Does C16 cost more than E85? Yes. But for the price and sake of consistent reliability of C16 that will keep your nitrous tune healthy and keep your Nitrous System Consistent I would pay for it. -Houston

Yup been discussed here a lot. Best results come with sticking to the same type of fuel. E85 in tank, E85 or E98 in the cell. Gasoline in tank, gasoline class in the cell.
What I haven't figured is why some use "nitrous specific" fuel in the cell vs C16 or anything else. Fuel keeps getting fancier but most people still go back to tried and true C16. One crazy nut told me to put Nitro in the cell.... couldn't help but laugh.

i found a few places within reasonable driving distance, but none of them carry c16 from what i have seen. the sunoco place near me carries 100oct, and 104oct. unless i want to drive an hour + to buy gas. how long will a gallon last using a 150 shot plate?

With 150 shot of fuel I will tell you that you would go through multiple bottles of nitrous before consuming 1 gallon of fuel. 150 shot of nitrous would have a small minute of fuel used to support nitrous to fuel ratio and target Air fuel ratio. As there are many different variables the exact amount may be hard to answer.- Houston

thanks Dave, that was what i was looking for... i figured there were different variables, depending on a number of things. all i really needed was a general, on average kinds number.
thanks again!
