couple questions going to 243 heads spraying heavy
I have great handle on the 250 jets, I have sprayed the 300 a few times and still working on that tune up.
This is a SBE deal with TV2 cam. I currently have un-milled 241 heads that have been home ported. I got my hands on a set of 243 heads that I am going to send to Texas Speed for there stage 1 porting. I have been running a 50/50 mix of c16/93.
My question is with the increased compression from the 243 heads should I expect to pull a little more timing?
I have also been using stock head bolts, should I swap to ARP head bolts?
During re-tune should I go speed density or keep the MAF?
1 3/4 pace setter headers currently, swap to 1 7/8?
Possibly swap to Chris' prostock intake?

Yes I would start out by pulling 2 more degrees on the same tune up with the new heads.
Yes I would swap for ARP hdwe.
I would run straight race gas, no mix.
I like speed density
1 3/4 are fine. I went 9.20s on them. If you can afford to swap headers then go ahead but for not what you have is fine imo.

Thought I would chime in as I am running A.I. 243 heads on my 403" nitrous motor. Check out my build thread https://ls1tech.com/forums/generatio...ous-build.html
I am running C23 in my stand alone as that is what most big nitrous guys run. My heads are milled to 63cc and with my -8cc Wiseco's it should put me right around 11.1:1 which is fine for 91 pump (Socal).
I chose to stud the motor top and bottom along with having the rings gaped accordingly. I think your biggest issue will be the cam itself. I had the TV2 cam and it just wouldn't pickup much over a 200 shot on my HCI Ls1. You will definitely need to swap to the 1 7/8 headers along with a cutout or dumped exhaust. Nitrous loves exhaust.
I am running the BTR stroker nitrous cam which is a huge cam @50 (251/266). My tuner was able to dial it in pretty darn good. I have no issues driving around town with surging or anything weird... It is speed density tuned as we were experiencing MAF revision and had to ditch it.
I have a .093 jet in the plate and am pulling 11*
I will be hitting the track for the first time next Thursday and hope to see bottom 6's off the trailer with a conservative progressive setting.
Hope this helps!

Studs would be best but bolts will be fine.
C 16 imo is perfect, that's all I run.
Speed density gets rid of the maf and just simplifies the tuning process imo.
Yes I had the ftra but Chris's is way better.
