Default Texas Mile N20 Z06

This is our N20 C6Z06 we take to the Texas Mile. It will be close this year. Our boosted Z06 is loaded and ready to go.

We leave Thursday morning for mile. I finished the new motor on the engine dyno yesterday at 2pm. We run Holley EFI on the dyno so once the motor is back in the car is still has to be re-tuned since the Z06 still runs a factory E38 ecm. With the motor still warm from the dyno it went over to JediTekk Custom and performance (where we use the chassis dyno) for the last minute install.

If you don't mind me asking what is done to the motor to make it happy at a 500 shot? Ring gap? Quench? Timing? I bet it's fun as hell!

The motor we been running the last few years was the LS7 block that came in it with a good set of rods, pistons and crank with the stock ported heads. It made 600rwhp NA on pump gas and 1090rwhp on nitrous on the chassis dyno. Nickens Brothers Racing in Conroe built that motor and the new motor, I dont know all the specs off the top of my head. The new motor is a dart ls next shp block with brodix heads same cam, basically just going to better block and better head casting. We never planned on spraying 500 in the beginning but our boosted car kept speeding up so we went from 300 to 400 then to 500. It takes alot of tuning to run that much nitrous for a mile. The nitrous Z06 and boosted Z06 run within 1mph of each other at the mile.

Hats off to y'all. I can only imagine the tuning that it takes to run a standing mile with it

It came down to the wire and we made it until unfortunately something broke in the transmission on the dyno the morning of the mile so we didnt get to run it this time. We did take the booted Z06 and it did awesome.
