Tuning Question
Been doing a LOT of searching, but I haven't found anything that directly addresses my question...
I just purchased an NX EFI kit and plan on installing it on my current setup (see sig), and I'm trying to figure out... What a/f ratio and timing should I be shooting for on the juice??
My current n/a setup runs real strong (13.0:1 a/f with 28* max timing); how much do I need to adjust both the a/f and timing to handle the 150 (wet) shot??
TIA

Anyone??
C'mon, somebody's gotta know... This'll be my first time dealing with nitrous, and I really don't wanna blow something up because of my lack of knowledge.
I understand that I should probably drop my timing ~ 3-4 degrees for a 150 wet shot, but what about my a/f?? Does the fuel added by a wet kit make it unnecessary to lower the a/f ??

for timing, ive always been told to take out 2 degrees for every 50 youre spraying, so in your case i would take out about 6 degrees. as far as a/f ratio, i really cant give you an exact number, you have to get on the dyno and see where your car likes to be.
ps. someone correct me if im wrong.

it's 1* per 50hp. with the first 50hp not counting. i ran a 150 wet shot and the PCM reported 3* of knock with no retard using a TECH II scanner. so, no retarding of the timing was needed. i'm currently at 200hp wet still with 0* timing retard. this on a stock 00 formula with SLP airlid and cutout. ran 11.97 @ 118 before cutout. NA it went 13.60 @ 102

Sounds good on the timing; I figure I'll pull it down around 25* (from 28*) on the dyno and see how things check out...
So is there any truth to the fact that you need to run much richer (ie, 11.5-12.0:1) while on the spray. If I run 12.5:1 with no knock or retard, am I pretty much good to go??

running richer helps with preventing detonation. because too much fuel is a little harder to burn. another way to look at detonation is the fuel burns too fast. causing knock. so one way to slow it down is to have too much fuel. i'm at 11.5:1 on my 200.
