Default putting WOT switch under dash (gas pedal)

is there a reason most people dont do this?
im talking to someone and he wants to "hide" it...

anyway, i couldnt think of a really good reason for a pedal mounted WOT switch not to work.... short of the throttle cable breaking.

any good reason to NOT do this?

btw i suggested one of thoes TPS sensor based WOT switches...

his comeback to me on it, is the throttle cable is alot more reliable then the TPS sensor and some electronics.... really, i could see his point... ive seen TPS sensors go bad on cars... ive never seen a throttle cable break, and ive worked on some old, old cars..

lil help?

Well you can, I woulent reccomend it, but if your dealing with a cable driven throttle linkage its not as detrimental as a drive by wire setup.. I would reccomend the electronic wot switch, thats the pimp way of setting it up 4 sure..

We have done the in-car throttle pedal switch setup, it would just fine! just be carful where you mount the switch so carpet cannot hit the switch.
the TPS swithc is the best way. Go to www.DynoTuneNitrous.com as they are pretty cheap there. We sell the micro switches if thats the route you choose as well.
Cheers

I have seen this work on other peoples car but I won't do it. I don't like it because a cable can have some slack in it and it is not as presice as mounting it right by the TB.

well, he put it under the dash, so that the "top" of the pedal that comes back, hits the microswitch on a bracket.....

we'll see how it works..

I have had mine like that since 2000 and it works great, but like the others said you have to make sure the carpet doesn't get in the way. When I had the 5177 kit on my car I converted it to a single nozzle setup under the airlid with the solenoids under the lower airbox between the radiator and air conditioner condensor. Window switch mounted to the back side of the glove box and master arm switch mounted to the very back of the glasses holder in front of the shifter. No body found it but one person and he had been running nitrous forever so he knew every nitrous kit had to have a power switch going to the battery, so he just looked for the extra wire and traced it back. But all my wires were covered in the factory black loom just like factory and run right beside the factory wire loom so it all looked stock.

Just to try to give you some ideas for him.

What are you talking about with the "throttle cable breaking"???????????????????????????????????????

As you can see, it's the same way he did it. It's an electronic WOT switch. I honestly did not know they made them with a "cable" of any sort.

It's worked without a flaw for the 9 months I have had it on my car.

It's on vette, however, I think the wot microswitch is more dependable and a much cleaner look, imo.

look at the pic again.. you can see where the cable attaches.

only the vettes (and perhaps the trucks??) have fly by wire.

The way it was worded, I thought you were talking about a cable on the WOT switch.

How the hell would the cable break because of the wot switch?

i had a TPS fancy pants wot switch, it **** the bed on me once, i got another one, and it worked well for a while, then crapped out on me my last track trip, so this season i will be wiring in 2 $1.00 micro switches, one under the pedel, and one right next to the tb. this way if one fails, i have a back up. it doesnt realy matter if one fails, but in an event, that could be a win or a loss, so im having back up.

Mounting the switch on the pedal is a good idea. No water to destroy the switch
Simple clean out of the way. We like it! Nice Pictures!

Have mine mounted exactly the same... works flawlessly and is not exposed to the underhood environment. Only warning... make sure traction Control is turned off.
