That's rough. God bless NA cars. Nitrous has come a long way though. How many times do you hear about things like this nowadays.

Holy ******* ****.

We need to find the root of that problem, so others do not repeat that.

Makes me think twice about putting in a kit without telling the wife...

In the stills the manifold is gone, gas everywhere. It was stated on one of the sites that a puddling back fire problem had occurred. that's why after market manifolds have burst panels, to keep fuel rails from spraying gas all over?

why would the gas puddle though?????????????????????? Unless a noids sticks open there should be puddling unless you run a huge shot. Yes it puddled but why?????????? Relay failure? Fuel Leakage? Fuel Noid hung open? These are what we would like to know but probably won't ever. That's not bad I've seen worst but the valve of the vehicle was alot less.

I've had 2 nitrous backfires and they were NEVER EVEN CLOSE to being that bad. I had to replace the MAF on one and the intake and MAF on the other. My problems came from detonation from pump gas + too high compression + HOT engine temps.

From what I read happened was he was running a window switch and WOT switch, but the window switch wasn't working for him, so he bypassed it and was only running the WOT switch. He had been spinning off the line all day, but this run the car bogged, and he floored it, nitrous engaged at 1,000 rpms and BOOM. If you watch the videos you can see the nose dive when it bops, then its all over.

Anyone save the video because it looks as if they took it off! Was this from a big shot(200+) or does anyone know? I know that the fast intake have the burst panels but isnt there a way to put one on a stock intake? Info would be great. So would you guys say(if the story below is true) its hos own fault? Thanks!

This kind of explosion even with a burst panel wouldn't help. The fast intake would blow up too in this condition. This was a big boom not a hick up.
