Default 1st time sprayer

I finally get my 5177 kit installed with a 100 shot(32 jets) and go for a test ride.
3rd gear about 3k rpm and I punch it.
Is that it? Maybe a bit faster but not the experience I was expecting.

Not sure if I hooked everything right the first time I bypass the FPS and window switch and try again with the same results.
So I park the car open the lid, arm the system and press the throtle switch.
Sprays just fine.

When I filled my bottle the guy told me I empied his tank.
Is I possible the bottle was filled with air?
Should I feel a definite difference on or off in 3rd gear?

do you have a bottle pressure gauge? or bottle heater? If the bottle wasnt totally filled, and cold, you could easly be under 600psi, that being said, a 100 shot will only be like a 50, it will hit you back pretty good even in 3rd. A 125 shot on my car took off over 1 sec in my 1/4

you should feel a differeance, can you disconnect the nitrous line into the intake and tap the gas to make sure the solenoid is working? When it hits you will know.

You should always weigh your bottle before and after, then you'll know. I agree on the blanket to get press correct.

I dont have a guage. I guess thats next.
When I bypass the fps and window switch and open the lid I can hear it spray.

Now that I think about it when I purged my lines I heard and felt the pressure but never saw a cloud .
Is it possible the bottle is filled with air?

Air has no weight. You need to weigh the bottle and see. When his mother bottle went empty during filling the weight will not increase. Sounds like the bottle pressure is way low or he didn't get much nitrous in it. How much nitrous did you pay for?

If you never seen a cloud you probley have a bad fill.Regardless get a nitrous pressure gauge and bottle heater.

definately need the gauge as stated above to help determine pressure. you also need to weigh your bottle evertime you have it filled.

Its a 98.
The only mods are lid, catback and ported maf

I took the bottle back and had it topped off.
I was told it was at 1000 psi (time to buy a guage).

The guy who filled it told me I needed to purge the system before I would notice any gains.

As I dont have a purge valve( next purchase after the guage) does anyone know how long I need to run to get the air out?

You do NOT need to purge (unless he filled THAT improperly). If you spray, it will just hit softer, than the follow sprays will be right.

What you NEED is a bottle heater, and a gauge
If you could feel the difference between a 750psi hit, and a 1050 psi hit, you would be amazed!

I also HIGHLY rec. you get in a heat range COLDER spark plugs, like NGK TR6's.

I honestly missed the ported MAF. Does the ported maf respond the same way to dry kits as the maf ends do than?

Unhappy

The saga continues.
I weighed the 15lbs bottle should be 33lbs full only 28lbs.
Warmed it up in a hot tub of water. Same results maybe a bit faster but no great seat of the pants acceleration.
I guess Ill go thru the wiring once again as Im out of ideas and refill my bottle adding a pressure guage this weekend.
I never knew something so simple could be so tough.

I would check all your hoses and wiring for the hell of it but I would get that thing on a wideband right away. Good Luck! It will all work out!
