Default Nitrous in a Gym Bag?

Here's a link

Sounds good for an occasional user. What's your thoughts?

I'm trying to decide if nitrous should be my next mod. So, I am looking at all nitrous options and costs involved. The track here in Hawaii is scheduled to close down next year. So I'm looking to find an easy system to install, use for a year, and then sell after I am done.

I'm a complete newbie to NO2. I would really appreciate it if you'd share your knowledge about the gym bag system. Are the components good? bad? unheard of?
Thank you to all that reply.

Sounds good for a super sloppy way for a system and very dangerous at that.. Not to mention would definately not be allowed at the track!

I certainly wouldn't go with that kit. The pricetag isn't that low comared to what some of our sponsors are offering. Also, like was mentioned earlier, no track that I've ever seen would let that kit get in. Nitrous is a good mod and the cam in your sig should respond very well to it. One thing that I didn't see in your sig is a converter. You are robbing yourself of a ton of potential if you are running the stock converter with a cammed car. Perhaps that should be your next mod instead???

The stuff that comes with that bag-kit didn't appear to be worth the asking price. That's why I'm asking here about it. It makes Nitrous Outlet's halo kit look even more appealing.

Yeah, I'm running a stock converter. Before NHRA changed the rollbar restriction from 12 to 11.5, my plan was to just get into the low 12s with stock converter. (Now with the rules change, running an 11 sure sounds good.) So, I picked a cam that would work with the stock converter. Enhanced the lowend without hurting the topend. I'm able to hit high 1.8s 60-foot times.

90% of my driving is during rush hour traffic, stop-n-go, creeping along, real bad. My gas mileage is typically 12-13 mpg doing this commute. Gas mileage in my Subaru is 16-17 mpg doing the same commute. So I'm pretty sure that the traffic situation is the cause of the bad gas mileage. Anyways, I'm almost always driving without the TC locked-up. So a high stall TC would kill my gas mileage further. That's why I'm shying away from a TC. If I do get a TC I'm getting a max-effort one and not use the car for daily commutes.

Thanks for everyone's input.

There are a few people running compucar setups here. I know a few fo the truck guys are running them. Do a search for Compucar on this site and see what you get!

Thanks for the replies. An old thread asking the same question popped up on this page. I'm watching replies on both threads. Seems like the truck guys got a pretty good results out of this system. Thanks for the lead.

I could "die" almost 3 times for the price of the NX MAF kit, LOL!!

Dyno Tune has an affordable priced dry system. I just want to get an 11 and be done with it, after a few months. NO2 seems like the best solution for my goal. If doing it with a overly-simple system is a stupid idea, then it is a stupid idea. I'll move on to another idea. So, does the dry Dyno Tune system draw concerns?

with an auto going 12.6, you should be in the 11's easily with a 100 wet kit....dry shots suck dick in my opinion. Just get the basic NX wet kit, and when you wire it all up, run extra wire/relays just like you were hoking up all the extras like purge, heater, opener, etc. then later you can add that stuff easily if you like.

be done with it once you hit an 11. I just found that funny. I use to think that way also when I hit a 12 I was done when I hit an 11 I was done now I feel that if I hit a 10 I will be done.

Yeah great idea. When the 2 dollar nitrous system blows parts out of your block, you have a neat little gym bag to put the parts in. Brilliant!
