Default Fuel jetting question

What would cause me to have to use a much higher jetting to get a safe A/F ratio? With a NX wet kit, I had to use the 28 jet for fuel with the 41 nitrous jet for a 75 shot and a 35 fuel jet with the 52 for a 100 shot.

I don't have the graphs but both start off a little lean and then get fat towards the top of the rpm range.

I used the 22 jet for fuel with the 41 for nitrous and it was really lean. That's why I used the 28 (it was my next size jet) and it looked good. That's why I used the bigger jet for the 100 and it dipped in the 10s towards redline but using a smaller jet would have moved the whole curve up and caused it to be too lean (14s) in the low rpm range.

I'm just curious. It made good power and the A/F was at safe levels but I just wondered why I needed to use much higher fuel jets.

Bobby
