you shift like 100 less because your rpms would rise faster. Shifting way earlier really doesn't help. Yes you pick up more at 4000 rpm than 6000 because the air is more dense, I believe.

Good topic. I just ordered an NX kit myself and will be taking notes since I'm a nitrous newb. Silver, I have a 98 M6 Z28 so we have similar set ups.

What are you track times/dyno numbers? With 4.10s I see, which can be wicked, no traction issues?

I'm heads/cammed too and put 413 to the rear. That will change soon

Actually you need to shift right before the cam makes it's peak power, so it depends on your cam. You need to dyno the car, no dyno tricks, see where you are making peak power and shift a couple of hundred RPM before that so that you don't lose to much shift extension.

Elite Hot Rod is correct, if you run through the car's peak power you're not gaining anything, and he's right about shifting a little earlier too.

every motor i've seen dynoed on the hose made peak power 300-500 rpm sooner so i would shift @ 6000-6100.track times will tell you whats best.

My power peaks at 6300, I used to shift at 6400, trapped 116-117.

Now I shift at 6600 and my traps are 118-high 119's. My ET also got better.
