Default Direct Port!

I dont know anything about Direct Port Nitrous! I see a lot of LS1's running it! Why do so many people run DP kits and can they cause backfire in the manifold at a higher risk than wet kits?

I probably shouldn't be replying to this but.... A direct port is a wet kit... and (correct me if I'm wrong) but it really takes down the chance of a backfire because it limits gas puddling in the manifold because it fires into the port, not the manifold. You get an optimized distribution of fuel and No2 between chambers.

With a direct port kit the nitrous/fuel is being shot directly into the combustion chamber. The intake plenum is not being filled up with gas so if there was a back fire there would not be all that volume of gas and nitrous to explode.

A Direct port kit is also going to be more balanced across the board. Each cylinder getting the same hit.

edit: yeah what he said....didn't mean to copy you didn't see your post

If you are only running a 125 shot I would stick to a standard single nozzle, they work great, they are cheap, and alot easier to deal with for a nitrous beginner, if you are thinking of going over 200 then start thinking about a direct port.

Direct Port Pro's:
1. Able to make as much power as you want
2. Able to tune each cylinder
3. Not flowing Fuel through the intake
4. Look Mean as Hell

Direct Ports Cons:
1. COST
2. To Change A/F you have to change at least 8 Jets
3. To Change Horsepower Ratings you have to change at least 16 Jets
4. Plumbing the Intake

Not Saying I dont like Direct ports, hell my motor has 2 direct ports on it
