Default 1st gear lockout

hey everybody

i tried searching but maybe i was just too tired last night to make any sense of anything lol.

I bought a second microswitch to wire to my shifter, so when I'm in first, it will not let my nitrous fire. someone here on the board has this setup and i couldn't find who told me to do this.

my question is, how would i wire this up? When the switch is engaged, it will have power going through it, but when its not engaged (not in 1st) it wont have power? so its sorta backwards.

how would I wire this up? my only thought is that i treat it as a ground or something.

thanks!

You need the three prong type (open or closed type), if you want to run it inline with your wot sw, wired opposite. Can get them at radio shack for a couple bucks. Mine is wired a little different as it controls only second stage, and my wot sw controls both stages.

Yes, so no power goes through (open) until you dissengage lock out sw. In other words it's engagaged (open) while in first, so it breaks the current path even when wot sw is engaged (closed). It only keeps n2o out of operation in first.

Yes I have mine through my 2nd stage rpm activation sw (not a full ws) and ultimatly through my 1st stage ws ground through a relay (so rpm activation sw is controlled by 1st stg ws). If that makes sense.
