Default How do you keep the bottle temps down?

I mounted the bottle in the car yesterday. I still have not finished the system yet but wanted to see how it would look. Now today is over 95 out and my car is hot as hell. I wrapped the bottle in a white towel this morning and I just looked at the psi and it was a lil over 1200. What should I do? My bottle is set up kindof like robert56's (mine is mounted a foot back). This is my DD, should I just keep the bottle out of it? how high can the psi get before i have trouble?

That's a good question, I thought about this myself when it started to really get hot out. Any comments guys? Or should the bottle just be left out of the car till it gets cooler outside, for example, nighttime.

i beleive the burst discs are more like 3000psi. they have been known to burst at alot lower psi on cylinders that see alot of use, like repeated fillings multiple times a weak over months and months.
in your situation its a personal call, but i work with the stuff everyday, i would leave it in the car but out of direct sunlight.

if your riding in it...crank the a/c up...if your parkin, park it in a shaded area or a garage....or simply remove the bottle if your not gonna be using it.

Ok, i guess I will just leave it and keep an eye on it. I just checked it now and it was around 1200-1300 psi. I will keep my white towel on it.

During the summer it is not a good idea to leave the bottle in the car during the day.If you are out running around and trying to keep bottle temps down you can use several things.Bottle blanket,NX fire and ice, or the cheapest a cool damp towel.

I use a bottle blanket and try to avoid the direct sun, unless I am going to the drags then 1500psi on a dry is like up sizing the jets.

Make sure you have a good blow down setup.
