Default Regulator placement question

NX Ricky, NX Jeremy and Nitro Dave (and anyone else I might have missed!)

When using a regulator for fuel on a DP system, is it better to have the regulator close to the solenoid (short line of the lower pressure connecting them) or far from the solenoid (meaning more line at the lower pressure)? I am about to install the regulator and can go either way. I personally think closer, as the reg could handle the pressure change easier, but maybe a larger line would act like a capacitor.
HELP!!!!!
