Default window switch/spraying through shifts??

I am planning on spraying through the shifts tonight and I am thinking that the easiest way is to set the window off setting higher than my shift point. That should do basically the same as bypassing correct? I mean I know that it will still come on at the same time, but that should allow it to spray through them, right?

Right, Simply adjust window switch higher than your shift points to spray thru shifts and do not let off of gas pedel until run is finished. Automatic guys really do not need a window switch, only to prevent spraying below 3000rpm.

But some say it is very hard on an automatic to spray thru shifts, causing shorter transmission life?

Make sure you don't set it so high you get into your rev limiter.

I forgot about the REV limiter! Set cut off at 100 RPM before rev limiter.

Thanks Robert

But getting into the rev limiter would be a tranny shift point side effect only though right? That wouldn't have anything to do with the window switch. I mean if I have the rev limiter set at say 6600 and the shift point set at 6200 with the window switch being set at say 6500 hundred...I don't see how that could get the rev limiter...assuming the tranny shifts.

Will you be shifting your automatic manually? If so I think it would be possible to hit rev limiter.

The point is, it's not good to hit rev limiter on the spray. I have my ws at 6400, shift at 6500 and bumped limiter up to 6800, for safety and for better runs when speed shifting (easy to over rev) this is a manual though and a little different conciderations involved. On my auto I had bumped mine up a couple hundred rpms.

i see what you are saying...yeah i have an a4 and don't manual shift, so that should be cool. definately not good to hit limiter on spray. haven't had a problem with the limiter yet.
