Default Can i run a 200 shot on stock timing?

ok i was just wanderin if i could run a 200 shot on stock timing.i got a tnt f-1 wet kit..i do have a walbro fuel pump..stock injectors.although that doesnt really matter..i will also be running 101 octane so i know that will help..do you think i can be detonation free with 101 and stock timing with the 200 shot? my a/f ratio n/a is a solid 13 throughout the rpm range..so what should my a/f be when i shoot the juice? im guessing 11:7..thanks..and also what do you think my numbers will be? n/a numbers are in sig..im guessing 610rwhp but i have no clue on the torque.any ideas?

BUY THE RAMCHARGER TIMING BOX. you can retard the timing only when the nos comes on and be safe. i'm running 30deg timing motor and 24 deg when the bottle hits. the box has many features for the ls1 and most all the sponsors sell it for around $250ish. take a look, you'll love it.

200 shot really needs some retard. If you ran 110 octane you MIGHT get by. C16 and Ill bet you would get by. Right way to do it would be to pull some timing...maybe 4-6 degrees or so especially down low where the peak Tq will be AND run some 100 octane IMO. Your Tq on that may be over 700 ft/lbs if you hit it at 3000 rpms. Thats too much for full timing

Running lots of juice with lots of timing doesnt always mean max power.

Well, this is where I have an issue. Your stock timing is only 22*? I run an NA tune of 30*. If I shoot 200, I drop the timing 8* (2*x 50hp shot). Thats not taking into account the race gas. So I would say if your timing is at 22* or less, I'd do it with the right plugs and gap. Good luck.

Timing is best done on a dyno, because as Al stated more timing does not mean more power on the juice or n/a. Some do it the old school way and jack up timing until KR and back it off a hair. Max timing does not mean max power, in fact usually you make more power at less than max timing. So, really, on a dyno, advancing timing until peak power is made and no father is ideal. I know, we all can't run to a dyno when we want. I am at 22* for spray and n/a, stock Z06 timing works wonderful I might add.

That true CAT3...it all depends on what timing you start at as to how much youll need to retard.

Robert....those damn Z06's sure do run good with low timing...must be nice
