Default Nos and A4

Does anybody spary Nos through the gear shifts on a A4? I have a 100 shot dry on a 99 ls1. The car has a 2500 stall and 3.73 gears. I adjusted the line pressure up with a hpp3. G

i have, no track time til Nov 5th, but plenty of street runs.

I'll continue to spray 150-200 dry shot through the shifts til that tranny says goodnight

My '99 SS has a high compression 346 with a Rossler A4 and a 150 dry shot. I have sprayed through many shifts, at the track and on the street. No problems.

Nope, I shot a 150 for two years on my stocker. Then I decided to spray thought the shifts. Bye, bye tranny.

Perhaps your tranny was doomed no matter what...

Now I run a Yank SS3600 and my RPMs don't drop off much during shifts...I guess even if I spray say 3000-6000, i'll still be spraying through shifts if i don't fall below 3000 during shifts. My point is that it seems like it would be easier on the transmission to not spray during shifts...but is there any evidence that says it is one way or the other?

The idea is not to drop below lowest setting, but to stop spraying before the tranny shifts.

I spray till 6400rpm shift at 6600 and right back in. Car pulls like a mother! My pills are 3200-6400rpm`s. I wouldn`t spray threw shifts if possible. One thing, I do have H/C with 150 wet shot. Car in Sig! I did smoke my tranny second day from the shop when the tranny was stock. Had Century rebuild and never a problem after that. When it blew I had 13000 miles on it. Only 600 after the mods where done. I smoked first spraying off the line. Just be careful! At least put a shift kit in and adjust the psi up on your shifts so there firmer!

What is the difference of say H/C car with 100 more hp and a 100 shot of NOS? Turbo and S/C cars don't lift between shifts. I raised my Shift psi before I put the NOS in.

Its not the HP. Its the torque that kills trannys.

I used to spray a 100 shot through my '97 shifts and had no problems. But, count on it shorting the life. If you adjusted the line pressure for a quicker shift that is good. Stock tranys and the slippage between shifts is what kills them.

O.K. I'm not being arguemenative, but Blown Vert has over 500ftlbs of torque and an a4. I should only have about 440.

There's no gurantee, some have their auto's last spraying and some waist them real quick. Only you can choose if ya want to take the chance, meaning, if it dosen't hold up do I have the $$ to get a built tranny. Or, I don't want to take a chance until I can afford a built tranny and go ahead and get a window switch. My feeling is, you would probably be ok for at least moderate usage, depends how often and how hard your going to be hitting it. Now I did 150 passes this summer in my Z06, do I think you could do that spraying a stock auto, no.

Oh i put down big wheel numbers with a heavy heavy car. And I spray at least a bottle a week sometimes three or four. It puts to the wheels over 550 when i spray.
