Default Nitrous with a NA tune

I had an arguement with a friend of mine. My car is tuned for NA. Pretty aggressive. A friend of mine said that if I was to run 116 octane and change the tr55s to tr6s it would compensate for the agrressive tune. Does this make sense? I would think it would be better just to have a nitrous tune done. Although he is a little old school. Any suggestions?

Nitrous tune. I'm no expert but I wouldn't want my engine going lean while putting N2O in it... next thing you know... BOOM!

the high octane would help with being able to run the aggressive timing without detination, it also would help to know what size shot you may be talking about. It is better to get a tune for the nitrous though to be safe.

It's going to be a 150 shot. Nos Wet, single nozzle. I haven't had it tuned since I did the FAST 90 mm, NW 90 mm, Mez elec pump.

If you ran C16 with timing under 30 deg. it wouldn't be a problem.

I honestly dont think any nitrous tuning specific modifications need to be done with a wet kit and a 150 shot. Just judging from what I have seen of nitrous and agressive aftermarket tunes. I would, of course monitor with a wideband, air/fuel ratio while spraying. Get some scanning software, ie HPTuners, Autotap, EFIlive and log knock retard. If you are getting any at all, than it would be time to adjust timing.

With the right plugs, a fuel delivery system up to the task, etc.............

28-30 degrees timing + 116 octane fuel on a 150 shot = no problem.

With 116 you certainly wont have a problem....116 is overkill, youd be fine with 104, actually.
