Default nitrous prob...

just got my nitrous put on my car today and i tryed to spray it two time...my car is an AUTO and i got the window switch set to 3500 to 5000 rmps..but at about 4500 rmps, the car starts cuttin out and at the end of first gear and the first of 2nd gear it starts studdering and shackin and dieing out...i got back to shop that put the kit on(had done 100's of nitrous setups) and he said i have the wrong jets and i was flooding the crap outta my engine....

im useing the 55 N20 and 31 fuel jets which is what it says to use on my calibration card for 33PSI

but the shop said i should have had 31 and 29 cause i was runnign 50 PSI

what jets should i use????i only have full exhaust and nothin else

Sorry, but I don't think it would do that unless there was a huge freakin' fuel jet in there. I've ran on an empty bottle with all fuel and NO nitrous going into the engine, and it just feels slow. Did they install colder plugs? Are they gapped correctly?

Also, I'm assuming your transmission shifts around 5900 RPMs...set the window switch to deactivate at 5700-5800.

1 do you have a bottle heater? whats the bottle pressure at?
2.call the manufacturer of the kit and make sure the jetting is right for 58 lbs of fuel pressure.

What car are you talking about? 33psi and 50psi are not our pressures (lsx)?

Not sure what that card is all about (fixed the line up part for ya)?
Here is the standard area for a 100rwhp wet shot at our 58psi: Nitrous .047 and Fuel .025.

Every nitrous calculator I have seen and used says that a .052 nitrous jet is a 100hp at the wheels and a .050 jet is a 95 shot!

If your going to suggest this, take it one step further and go to your kits manufacture. I assure you that the jet sizes I gave will cause no ill effects and is a starting point, as is all manufacture's jets. Every combo/car is slightly different. With that said, the jets and pressure supplied on his card are in fact incorrect for the Lsx based platform.
Here is the link I got jets for:
Colonel's Tech Files
and a calculator:

Carefull on the sizing. It is pressure based. I used the 950psi pressure and in fact .047 and .025 are the correct jet size. Conservative yes, but not knowing the brand of kit this is the safest way to do it.

Macon and vortec350, have I givin you bad advice or data? did someone's motor blow on my input?

Oh hell no...Robert YOU are one of the better people around here!

When the original post is apparently making no sense to me I get worried for the owner. My fear is based on past experiences of people who have done some really poor installations. They launched intakes because they thought they knew what was going on. As far as I know you have never misled anyone.

I SHOULD have posted...listen to Robert56 and speak with a vendor.
