I got a Compucar "kit" (box o' pieces) used and as
far as I can tell it's DC 12V, like most others. At
least, it fires with 12V applied. What frequency?

I am looking at getting a FJO controller and it wants the Solenoid frequency for the progressive controller part, the help section said that the solenoid manufacturer would know this, but compucar doesn't seem to have an email tech department.

ummm call them up then.
If you can't get anyone on the phone, then try this:
If its a big solenoid 1.75"diameter try 14hz
If its a small diameter 1" you can go higher like 25hz

-Disclaimer- I know nothing about Compucar solenoids, but if I were to guess, thats where I'd start.

We should get a sticky going on all brand noids fuel/n2o for amp ratings and frequency. This is asked quite a bit, and with all these new progressive controllers on the market now...

I agree. The whole idea of solenoid mechanical efficiency is something i'd like to see about too. I'll bet there is a bunch of difference in the speed which different solenoids cleanly open and close. Frankly, i'll bet the white sheet data on solenoids is very interesting (assuming i could undestand it.).
