Personal Preference?
hey everybody, I'm going to install my 15lb bottle soon as my cam swap is complete.
I was going to install the bottle in the spare tire compartment, i think it would look slick.
But at this point, i don't know if its worth all the effort to try and mount it in the tire compartment. should i just throw it up on the flat spot in the back? (not the bottom, i want to still lock down my ttops)
I would go to car shows and stuff, and I don't know what would look better/cleaner, having it in the spare tire compartment (i would carpet everything) or just tossing it on the back
I was just wondering about having to remove the spare tire molding all the time to show ppl my bottle
what are your guys opinions?

i've seen people get the 15lb'er to fit
i also have the remote bottle opener. so its either between the seats or on the flat spot right behind the rear seats, up high.

A 20 lb bottle will fit in the spare tire compartment of a camaro.
Myself and one other person has done it that I know of.
I don't think they should be shown off personally. I think there are times when it's asking for trouble. I vote for the spare tire area. It's better insulated and safer there.

It really depends on what you want! If you're going to be racing and don't want people to see what you have then hide it but i'm not sure 15 will fit, don't think it will? 2 10's look awesome, a 15 looks good too.. if you want to do shows , then heck show off your bottle!

so i would guess so. i just like to drive my car lol
i'm just trying to think how to make everything look clean, with all the wiring for the bottle opener and heater etc

The valve is facing down and slightly towards the front so the pickup tube will be located in the bottom of the bottle facing slightly rearward. When the car is launched the body will go up and twist slightly to the right. The pickup tube will be exactly where the nitrous is trying to go. All the wiring and the feed line are under the carpets. If you should do the same, be very careful to route the feed line so it cannot get crushed. Mine is routed between the rearseats and under the console. Also, be sure to use a rubber bushing where the wiring and the feed line go through the dash so they won't be rubbing on bare metal. My glass in my rear hatch has limo tint on it. It keeps the heat out and it hides the bottle. You can't see the bottle from outside the car and you have to look very closely to see it when looking inside the car.

The siphon tube is usually indexed in a direct relation to the valve. If the valve is pointed up then so is the siphon tube. Likewise if the valve is pointed forward so is the siphon tube. This means when the car accelerates the nitrous rushes toward the back of the bottle and away from the tube (the pickup tube). This is assuming the bottle is mounted in the same position as mine.

A 15 will fit in the spare tire ( no hard blow down though). I had mine there, just got tired of taking it in and out all the time. I then mounted it on the flat just behind the seats, only disadvantage to this is the glass heats the crap out of it in the summer. But it's easier to disconnect and get to, I also have the NX blanket that made it a little harder in the spare tire well. After the new year it will be mounted to the roll cage. Third times the charm!
