Default anyone running a 175 shot on a (prettymuch) stock engine

i have heard plenty of people running 150 wet shots with a new fuel pump on 150 shots

whose running 175 shots on stock internals and maybe just boltons

and are you using anything other than a new fuel pump, window switch, and wot switch (thats what i was planning on)

WE do not suggest anything over a 150 saftey wise. However I know of many different people spraying 200 on a stock bottome end.Its all in the tune up and fuel delivery. It looks like you are on the right track. Im not sure what you have one mod wise. However if it is fairly stock a Racetronix kit will work and support a good 650 rear wheel hp.

yeah im completely stock, im looking for the biggest bang for my buck, so your saying for 200 and up territory a forged bottom end is probably necessary?

Try to think of it more in terms of TOTAL hp. Stock bottom LS1s are easily capable of maintaining 550 rwhp and 550 rwtq. Stay at or below those parameter and you could still have a 100k mile motor.
Obviously you must have a fuel system to deliver. Standard walbro 255 lph intank or preferably the reactronix setups will do this easily.

Then you need to think about the tuning and octane. Youll need to read a lil more in the forum to find out how far people are going on full timing and at what point they use higher octane.

For me...generally anything over 550 rwtq or 500 rwhp i like to add some 100 octane just to be safe. Over 550 rwtq and you really need to start doing your homework on the parameters you are operating under as far as timing, rpm activation point, octane etc.

I consider the practical limit on the stock bottom end to be around 650 rwhp and 675 rwtq.

Although If you are bone stock and at 300 rwhp NA I dont think you will be ingesting a full 350 shot to hit that 650 rwhp mark. Your gonna need supporting modes to get near that.....like headers and a cam atleast.

However if you are bone stock making 300 rwhp and want to make 475 with a 175 shot...you could easily do that. I would recomend one of the NX/FJO progressive controllers to keep the TQ down since a 175 shot is quite large and will net huge TQ spikes in a one hit wonder kit.

175 rwhp here. stock fuel pump, a/f was 10-1 so I think my pump is doing fine. I have one and I am going to go with the 255 pump intake this winter but so far stock is doing fine. Over 20+ street passes and not a hint of a problem. No tune and no KR. I just changed the plugs and went. I have a window sw. but its giveing me problems so I just by passed it, I also have a fpss, wot sw. Runs strong.

Now this is just my engine and my car. I can not say go out and do the same thing to yours and you would be safe. Your car may blow up on a 75 shot.( not that you have a bad car) all are different. Before you try a shot this big or bigger on a stock engine make sure your ready to suffer the consiquenses of a blown engine. If mine goes I'll wait a yr and then come out with a bigger and better one, can you afford it if that happens? Its up to you.

I say go for it just make sure you take the proper precautions. Plugs, wires and tune and make sure if you break something that you have another car to drive or the money to get the car fixed.

I read an article where they had a stock bottem end, PP Stage2 LS6 head shaved to 59cc, PP 226 cam, and a 200shot of spray got them over 700HP at the crank. The only thing different was it being engaged at 5000rpm. But they didn't say how long the stock bottem end would last. To be honest, the cam is not preferred for spray.

If you need more than 150 I suggest finding it somewhere else and not in the bottle cause your motor will probably burn a piston. Take the car to a dyno and get it tuned for that size shot. AF ratio and fuel delivery is what you want to check. I say stay at 100 shot and add some long tubes headers and find more hp

Just like Al explained, my torque has never got past 5xx, and I have run from 100rwhp single stage dry to 200rwhp multi stage dry. I have over 150 1/4 passes, plus dyno runs, street passes and freeway 130/140mph runs and have hurt nothing. so what's been stated about tune, octane and the such is the best advice, along with introducing some of the nitrous in the higher rpms. this works so well that next year i think a 300rwhp shot on an absolutley bonestock LS6 is my goal. With a 125rwhp shot coming in at 5100 rpms as my third stage wet. Will I blow it, I don't think so, but...
Robert
