Default Vert owners with nitrous, please check in

I just recieved my nitrous kit and upon reading the instructions it say to mount the bottle where it is not in direct contact with the sun. I had originaly wanted to place it between the rear seats is this still doable or should I mount it elsewhere? What are your suggestions?

You should be fine mounting it there. I'm personally a fan of hiding it and will be putting my bottle in the center holding cell in the "trunk"

I have mine between the rear seats but that required custom brackets to get the proper angle. (its at a downward slope, so regular brackets dont work.
I like it, tinted windows, nobody notices, and its easy to reach back and open the valve for impromptu (sp), and illegal street kills, (not recommended to race on street).

Where did you get the brackets or did you have them made?

Hey Ed. Do you think it would be ok to mount it between the rear seats where it's exposed to the sun? You know us vert guys, we will have the top down when ever it's sunny out

Just make it white or silver, the warning is just about
cooking the sauce and going overpressure. A flat
black bottle would be a bad idea....

I think you will be fine since the bottle is white. Just keep an eye on the pressure.

Thanks for the help guys!! Dave, that is agreat looking bracket, I think I will be ordering one of those in the near future. Do you think the bottle will still be ok there even if it's black? It will only be exposed to the sun while i'm driving and it doesn't go on long trips.

I built my brackets. turned out very sturdy also. I too have been worried about the bottle pressure so on hot days I cover it with a white cloth and pressures seem to stay in check. Not too hot here in the NW most days though. +it's a hard top.

That is what I picked up, it is a very solid piece and looks great between the seats.

I'd try to keep it away from as much sunlight as possible. I had my 15lb bottle mounted on the rear deck in my 02 Z. Filled the bottle on my lunch break and went back to work. Came outside to see if the pressure had risen about 2 hrs later, and the needle was pegged all the way over hitting the underside of the needle stop @ 0psi. This was in July. Could have gotten really ugly fast.
