Default test flowing with c02

Someone just told me that some people are using c02 to test flow nitrous kits. Obviously they are doing this to save money. It was said that the c02 and nitrous have the same flow and weight characteristics. Anyone else heard this. Any truth to this?

I would be leary. However it seems it would be easy to test that theory.

They are the same molecular mass (close enough,
plus or minus the odd fraction) but the fluid properties
might be different and the tank working pressure
almost certainly (vapor pressures anyone? Too lazy
to fish out the Rubber Bible this fine early morning).

Functionality, OK. Trust the numbers? Think not.

They both have the same fill volume per cylinder . You can use either or, FOR testing.
